Melsetter is among the most complex and ambitious projects D Geal Contractors has undertaken — a complete rebuild of a substantial property set within 1.92 acres on the prestigious Wildernesse Estate, Sevenoaks. The original structure was carefully retained and restored on the exterior; everything behind it was stripped out and rebuilt from the ground up to the highest contemporary specification.

The result is a five-bedroom, seven-bathroom family home that reads as traditional Kent brick from the outside and reveals a thoroughly modern, meticulously finished interior within. The grounds include a swimming pool and pool house, a tennis court, and mature woodland that offers complete privacy from the surrounding estate.

The heart of the house is the double-height entrance hall, anchored by a handcrafted staircase that sets the tone for the entire interior. The kitchen — designed and supplied by Roundhouse London, finished in Italian quartz with a full Gaggenau appliance suite — flows into a dining room that seats twelve with ease. A dedicated cinema room, home office with bespoke joinery, and a family room beneath a lantern ceiling complete the entertaining floors.

The principal suite was designed to a hotel standard that few residential properties match — from the scale of the bedroom itself to the en-suite bathroom that won recognition at the 2024–25 European Property Awards as Best Bathroom in Europe. The project ran for four years. Throughout, D Geal managed the full build programme — from groundwork and structure through to every interior finish, bespoke joinery, tiling, and landscaping.
